About the Author The Author: Michael G. Paulson is Professor of Foreign Languages at Kutztown University in Pennsylvania. He received an M.A. in history from the University of Central Arkansas, an M.A. in French, and a Ph.D. in French and Spanish from the Florida State University. Dr. Paulson has written several books, articles, and scholarly papers focusing on Mary Queen of Scots in world literature, Spanish literature in the Golden Age, and Madame de La Fayette. Some of his better-known works include The Queens' Encounter (Peter Lang, 1987), la corona trágica de Lope de Vega, Kings, Queens, and Splendor, and a translation, Princess of Clèves.
