Fartsalot is a feral cat who has lived many lives, only one of which has brought him much joy. Ever since 9/11, he's fought desperately to reunite with what remains of his human family. He worries his remaining lives won't fare much better than the last few. When he's maimed by a motorcycle on his birthday, he's convinced his remaining birthdays will be more of the same, or worse. Nothing solidifies that more than when he prays for a miracle and gets a huge, mysterious creature who may or may not want him dead instead. Will this especially difficult scenario lead him to more misery, or will he learn that his weapon of last resort could lead to a better life?
