About the Author

A. James Gregor is Professor Emeritus of Political Science at the University of California, Berkeley. He has published 30 academic volumes dealing with fascism as a historic phenomenon and as a social science concept. He has been a Fellow of the Center for Advanced Studies in Social Science at the Hebrew University, Jerusalem, and an Adjunct Lecturer for the State Department of the United States. He has been awarded a Knighthood in the Order of Merit by the government of the Republic of Italy.
