Knygos aprašymas

The seventh in his visionary series of thirteen tone poems for orchestra, Liszt's Festklänge was originally intended as a wedding march for his own wedding to Princess Wittgenstein during a brief period in 1853 when it seemed there would be no obstacle to the nuptials from the Vatican and even includes a 'polonaise' section alluding to the Polish origins of the Princess. After the Vatican indefinitely postponed the anticipated permission, the work was first performed as a musical introduction to a Schiller play given on 9 September 1854 with the composer conducting the Weimar Hofkapelle. This new study score is a digitally-restored reissue of the score edited by Otto Taubmann in the fourth volume of the Liszt-Stiftung edition, published in 1909. In contrast so many of the on-demand scores now available this one comes with all the pages with each image thoroughly checked to make sure it is readable, then beautifully printed on quality stock with an attractive glossy cover. Also included is an informative introduction by Liszt scholar Soren Afshar (Funper), a major contributor to the vast collection of Liszt pieces on IMSLP. The matching full score and orchestra parts are also available from Serenissima Music.
