Everyone thinks that Paris is the city of love and I enjoyed setting this love story in this amazing city which offered me so many occasions to build the romance between the heroine and the man she fell in love with. I let the story build slowly and I think that the most decisive moment in the novel, the moment that led to Meg's happily ever after is this passage below: "I finally could catch my breath for the first time since the moment when Philippe had come into my house. With shaking and bloody fingers, I pushed my hair away from my face and looked up in time to see a big fist striking Philippe strongly in the face. As result, Philippe fell like a log on the floor and, fortunately, he remained there, lying down without making any moves anymore.Looking down at him, almost purple in the face with anger, Ian looked as if he was going to spit on him and tear him into pieces at the same time. I could say nothing for a few very long seconds and I just waited in the same position on the carpet, watching Ian who seemed to have come from one of the tapestries depicting knights from the thirteenth or fourteenth century in battle.I think that Ian felt my eyes on him because he turned his fiery eyes to me and analyzed me from the top of my head to the tip of my toes, apparently detached, despite the fury that was still shining in his eyes. I followed his gaze and, to my horror, I realized that I was almost downright naked. My dress was totally torn and, with a hurried gesture, I tried to pull the rags around me as quickly as possible, to cover myself somewhat. Ian shook his head as if he thought that my effort was useless and pulled me up gently. Furthermore, I didn't feel comfortable being half naked under Ian's eyes, being aware that my state was the result of another man's attack. Ian nodded understandingly and he let me go but only after he made sure that I had the use of my legs. After he let go of me, he sat down on the sofa watching Philippe who hadn't come to his senses yet. I glanced to Ian again. He seemed to be weighing the situation and I thought I'd better let him to it. Then, I went on shaken legs towards the stairs."
