Murder and crime detection follow, and listeners are introduced to a motley crew of suspects, both the stolid descendants of Puritans and Latin-American transients. All these well-defined characters are expertly brought to life by the vocal skills of Joe Barrett. His portrayal of crusty Aunt Constance is particularly noteworthy.
