About the Author
Robert Williams was born in Melbourne, Australia, in 1941 into a world of uncertainty as nations pitched battle in what was World War II. Like his contemporaries he has lived through seven post war decades of the most rapid advancement ever of man's capacity to harness science and technology - for things good - and for things evil. His path in life is signposted with some remarkable highs and lows as he elevated himself into the top end of the Australian building construction and property development industries and the sport of offshore yacht racing and professions basketball. His belief is that life, business, and sport are bonded by the same fundamental principles, and that every man and woman - as they enter their senior years, ("playing in the last quarter of the game of life." as he puts it)- become the greatest asset in every community on Earth. It is these beliefs that motivated him to put to paper his own thoughts to prove his point. 'Playing In The last Quarter' is his third book having taken up writing when he was 73. He hopes that the stories that make up the book will help cut to the core of what is important in the game of life - particularly to those playing in the last quarter of that game - and will be of benefit to people of all ages for decades and centuries to come.
