Rama Raksha Stotra: A Shield Of Rama's Names

This hymn is called rāma rakshā stotra and is from the scripture ānanda rāmāyana. It is stated in the fifth sarga of janma khanda of ānanda rāmāyana. It is a conversation between vishnudāsa and his guru rāmadāsa.This hymn of rama raksha stotra was revealed to goddess gauri by lord Shiva in the presence of skanda. He initiated the hymn to goddess gauri and instructed her to do the protection rituals for skanda so that he can can defeat and destroy tāraka.After bowing to lord rāma, he started teaching the hymn. Goddess gauri chanted the mantra and did the protection ritual for skanda. By the power of the rama raksha stotra mantra, skanda defeated tārakāsura.
