About the Author David T. Morgan, a professional historian, spent 33 years in the college classroom before retiring in 1997. He holds the BA degree from Baylor University, and MA and Ph.D. degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is the author of numerous professional articles and more than a dozen books. He currently lives in Alabama with Judith McIntosh Morgan, his wife of 54 years. They have two children, Cindi Reeves and Brian Morgan, and two grandchildren, Matt Reeves and Riley Paige Morgan.
