About the Author
My name is J.D. Miller and I am retired and a novice writer. I grew up on a small farm in Northeast Alabama where I had many experiences during my childhood. Some of the experiences prompted me to write them down beginning with those of my early childhood and continuing from there. In my early childhood, I began writing jokes and limericks and then on to poems and sonnets in high school. After high school, I went into the Air Force as an office clerk, which allowed me to work at writing. I wrote data sheets and manuals. In the secular workplace after my tour in the Air Force, I continued as a technical writer of job descriptions and training manuals that would comply with ISO (International Standard of Operation). I would write poems and short stories when the mood struck, but never took the time to write a novel. I eventually decided that if I were ever to publish any of my early writings, I would need to tack them into the back of a novel. I started my autobiography and inserted my jokes and other material. Before publishing my autobiography, I wrote and published two other books. I did these two first to get my feet wet as a self-publisher to determine if the effort would be worth the time.
