About the Author

Ian Bradley is Emeritus Professor of Cultural and Spiritual History at the University of St Andrews. A regular writer for the Tablet, the Times, and the Telegraph, his career has encompassed full-time journalism and broadcasting and University teaching and chaplaincy work.
