With the help of large-format fabrics,Ulla von Brandenburg transforms exhibition spaces into colorful, sensual spaces of experience that bring together impulses from theater, circus, dance, and design. Different materials and genres are combined into a loose story in the sense of a cross-disciplinary Gesamtkunstwerk: objects, films, watercolors, and performances with diverse references to literature and art history, ritual actions and anthropology. The artist herself describes her artistic approach as "spatial mises-en-scène." The catalog follows her approach with numerous illustrations, texts accompanying the exhibition, and a conversation with the artist.
