Knygos aprašymas

Product Description The Exploring Countries series takes readers on a worldwide tour to discover diverse countries from around the globe. Learn about each countrys land and climate, plants and animals, natural resources, goods and services, indigenous peoples, cultural groups, arts and entertainment, sports, politics and government, and much more! Exploring Countries is a series of AV2 media enhanced books. A unique book code printed on page 2 unlocks multimedia content. These books come alive with video, audio, weblinks, slide shows, activities, hands-on experiments, and much more. From School Library Journal Gr 4-6-These titles emphasize the unique cultures and positive characteristics of various countries. Coverage is broad, with one or two pages devoted to the featured country's geography, economy, history, ethnic mix, politics and government, arts, and sports. Attractive color photos and maps appear on each page, but they are supplemental to the several paragraphs of text that provide basic information about each topic. Text boxes add some interesting facts, and the books conclude with mapping activities and a quiz. These volumes have many positive points, but they are so weakened by an unacceptable number of errors (e.g., United States says that there are 20 billion people living in the New York City-Newark area and India states that the country has GDP of 46 trillion dollars) that should have been caught and corrected in the editing process that they can't be recommended for purchase. A website in each title takes readers to additional online resources.α(c) Copyright 2013. Library Journal. LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Media Source, Inc. No redistribution permitted.
