Product Description David Harrison’s childhood was marred with the trauma of abuse. As an adolescent, he turned to substance abuse to dull the pain. Lost in a private Christian school system with no support, he thought he was stupid—that he’d never amount to anything.And he believed it all. Feeling broken and unfixable, he began to see suicide as the only escape from hopelessness. But a friend’s death changed Harrison’s life. Far from driving him deeper into despair, his friend’s passing triggered a spiritual encounter with God that set the young man on a search for deeper truth about himself—and the world in which he lived. Working alongside missionaries that helped victims of the sex trade, Harrison found himself inspired to help heal those who were rescued from this denigrating world and restore their identities. At the same time, he faced the pain so necessary for his own healing to begin. This is Harrison’s inspiring story as he peels away the layers of his past to realize his life was based on a negative script written by others—a script he needed to rewrite. All proceeds from Who Am I? Drugs to Dreams go to Destiny Rescue, an organization rescuing children trapped in the sex trade. About the Author David Harrison holds one diploma in criminal justice and another in counseling and psychology. He worked as a settlement practitioner in Lethbridge, Alberta, assisting refugees as they settled into new lives in Canada. He left this career to continue his education and begin his own business as a motivational speaker and counselor-inspired by work that has taken him across North America, Africa, Europe, and Asia. Active in church leadership for eight years, Harrison participates in the planting of new churches in communities needing spiritual guidance. He is currently studying with the intention of becoming a registered counselor in Canada. He currently resides in Lethbridge, AB, Canada, with his wife, Ashley, and two sons, Judah and Rowan.
