Wisdom from the Heart: Whosoever Solomon

“Wisdom from the Heart – Whosoever Solomon” is a fresh adaptation of Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, and Song of Songs from the American Standard Version Bible. This title acknowledges King Solomon as the inspiration for these Biblical books. Although he was not the sole author, he was a major contributor and editor of these three collections of “the words of the wise, and their enigmas” (Proverbs 1:6). Solomon makes-no-bones about his purpose in writing and collecting these sayings, he invites the reader: “To know wisdom and instruction; To discern the words of understanding; To receive instruction in wise dealing, In righteousness and justice and equity; To give prudence to the simple, To the young person knowledge and discretion: That whosoever is wise may hear, and increase in learning; And that the intelligent may attain to sound counsels” (Proverbs 1:2-5). Being given voice as “the Preacher,” Solomon goes on to add, “And further, because the Preacher was wise, he still taught the people knowledge; yes, he pondered, and sought out, and set in order many proverbs. The Preacher sought to discover acceptable words, and that which was written uprightly, even words of truth. The words of the wise are as goads; and like nails well fastened are the words of the masters of these collections, which are given from One Shepherd” (Ecclesiastes 12:9-11).
