About the Author


Christie Yant is a science fiction and fantasy writer, and assistant editor for Lightspeed Magazine. Her fiction has appeared in many anthologies and magazines including Armored, Analog Science Fiction & Fact, Beneath Ceaseless Skies, and China's Science Fiction World. Her work has also been long-listed for storySouth's Million Writers Award. Christie lives on the central coast of California with two writers, an editor, and assorted four-legged nuisances.


Mira Grant--pseudonym of Seanan McGuire--is the winner of a 2010 John W. Campbell Award for Best New Writer. She is the author of Deadline, Blackout, Feed, and Countdown, all part of the Newsflesh series. She lives in California.


N. K. Jemisin, a science fiction and fantasy reviewer for the New York Times, won the Hugo Award for Best Novel for The Fifth Season, which was also a New York Times Notable Book of 2015. She previously won the Locus Award for her first novel, The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms, and her short fiction and novels have been nominated multiple times for Hugo, World Fantasy, and Nebula awards, as well as being short-listed for the Crawford and the James Tiptree, Jr. awards.


Charlie Jane Anders is an American journalist, editor, and fiction writer. Her novel Choir Boy won a Lambda Literary Award in 2005. She lives in the San Francisco Bay Area, where she is managing editor of the science fiction website io9.com.


Maria Dahvana Headley is a memoirist, novelist, and editor, most recently of the novel Queen of Kings and the New York Times bestselling anthology Unnatural Creatures (coeditor with Neil Gaiman). Her short story "The Traditional" was nominated for a Shirley Jackson Award. She lives in Brooklyn with a seven-foot stuffed crocodile and a collection of star charts from the 1700s.
